Calm before the storm

Posted by G-force

Been doing nothing but studying the last couple of weeks. I’ve set my exam date for the 9th and so far I feel that I will be well prepared. It’s kinda cool, actually, going through all the course material for the 1st time and only NOW do I realise why certain things work the way they do!! All these little nuances I’ve always had to work around are actually designed to work that way for a reason. As I’ve said before, my whole database work experience is very much like driving around for 5 years, and only NOW learning how to drive (properly :) ).

Checked out the Air show at Ysterplaat Air force base, which was quite depressing really. The weather was sunny and all, but the wind was ridiculous!! Makes you real ratty real quick. Apart from that though, It just reminded me of what a sad, sad fucking joke our “Air force” is. Our so called “Air force” consists of nothing more than tired-ass old scraps of metal that should have been retired 15 years ago. And they only ever actually do the “Air” thing if there's enough funding going round to even get them off the ground. I wanted to see F16’s and Apache’s and crazy shit like that!!

Don’t get me wrong, I hate the Americans! But GOD DAMN they have some nice fucking toys!

sigh

Other than that, not much else has been happening. I think I also mentioned I’ve got a pretty good “routine” going. In part, I also dabble with some art I’ve been trying to get to for ages. It’s shaping up to be almost worthy of putting on my wall in the lounge! It’s very abstract but there are quite a few little hidden messages and meanings packed in there. So on with that we shall go.
