I wrote the second part of my SQL 2000 DBA prerequisite on Friday and 0wnz0r3d it (naturally). Which means that I can now finally focus on more important things, such as the December holidays! :) Went out that evening to watch the Guevarras do their thang again. They where playing a gig at Logic Bodyboarding Magazine’s birthday party at Mercury Live. And they TOTALLY tore that shit up! Logic magazine even did an article about them in this months issue. Righteous!!
I’ve been waiting quite some time to hear them play on big sound and I gotta tell ya, it’s the only way these okes should play! They're going places man, I can really feel it. All the usual krew was front and centre of course. Did our little bout of warm up drinks 1st, just to get the juices flowing. Wrecked the dance floor with all sorts of shit, like the “Bowler” and “The Thigh Slap” (ps: don’t try these at home. We are trained professionals). It was crazy! :)
Ducked after that to a Bachelors party which was just about winding up to be a fucking bender of note. Winded up in Vacca Matta (OF ALL PLACES) doing baaaad things to sexy waitresses. At least, I think they where sexy. And I thought I was doing “bad things”. Maybe it only happened in my head. Alot of things only happen in my head.
But I digress.
It's the kinda thing that one can expect to happen when a bunch of guys have to send off one of the group, a young stud as it where, to oblivion. Aw well, I’ll just have to take his share of the tits and ass.
Woke up Saturday feeling the absolute worst I have in ages. Could not imagine why, but I must have fucked up somewhere, cus I never ever have hangovers this bad. Still had to drive home from the ‘burbs and as fate, luck and the fuck-up fairy would have it, there was traffic everywhere, every SINGLE LIGHT was red, roadworks on the N1 and people just driving like utter dicks. Oh, and I forgot my sun shades at home.
Yes indeed, the pain was exquisite.
Attempted to do a little Concert in the Park in Kirstenbosch on Sunday. I say “attempted” because for some odd reason the greater part of the Cape peninsula had the exact same idea at the exact same time. The result: Rush hour traffic, the kind Spielberg could make a movie about, on a freakin SUNDAY afternoon. And: I. HATE. TRAFFIC. (!!!) so very, very much. This is precisely the reason why I chose to live and work in town in the 1st place.
So at that stage, having endured the aforementioned Saturday “ode to my blistering Hangover” and the subsequent traffic orgy, I finally lost my cool. Fortunatly for said “cool”, groupie Number 2 (ps: whom I will hence forth call “Wad of Lusciousness”. PPS: yes, ex-groupie nr 1, you have been demoted. You have to be "innit to winnit") eased my suffering by suggesting we all catch a detour to a wine farm just a coupla clicks down the road and do the whole picnic / wine / talk kak thang there instead.
So in the end, it turned out really really well for all parties concerned. We only left the farm at about 22:00 or so, well passed everybody’s bed time. But good peeps, good wine, even better laughs and a whole fruity bouquet of kak talking made the world a whole better place for me once more.
Duidlik!
