London 101

Posted by G-force

Week 4.

Feels a whole lot longer. Tip of the week (to anyone willing to listen) is: Forget everything you ever thought you knew about London. The best way to learn has always been the hard way, I guess, and thus far I've picked up on a ton. My CV has morphed into some monstrosity, of which caliber even the esteemed Doctor Frankenstein would have been proud of. Hell, I bet if I shoot enough lightning up it's ass it would spring to life! It seems to have been just the ticket though, because (and this is the part where I'm going to step into a woefully inadequate, albeit thankfully short fishing analogy) i've been reeling in job agents by the bucketful! Hell, it's like fishing with dynamite. I applied for (count them) 26 (!!) jobs on Sunday evening. My phone has not stopped ringing since...

It's not like I'm lying (per se) on my CV, but there is an awfull lot of mis-direction involved, not very much different than being in a relationship. "Sure, I discovered the cure for cancer!! I'm just waiting on the monkeys to show any side effects. And you think thats impressive, why don't we go back to my place, and I'll show you my rather cute kettle..."

Today bore a particularly sweet fruit because it would seem that I have secured myself a very promising interview. Got it setup for Monday, and I'll need to sit through the standard Psychometrics and Technical Exam combo special, which means I have from now till then to brush up on my most-l33t skillz.

And on the living arrangements end I have secured us a very very nice little 2 bedroom apartment, smack-gawd-damn-bang right in the middle of London, and for dirt cheap to boot. Yeah, you're right, I still make this shit look good...

Oh, and it's St Patricks day on Sunday. I hear it's a very good excuse to wear green and get hammered like a moose.

Pics to follow, of course.
