What's up, space cadet? :)
This is my post-coital, new-deal, happy 2010 check in, tapping the fishbowl, wondering if there's life behind all that algae.
I'm doing very well by all counts. I think New Year was just the thing I needed to kick me under my ass again. Are we preconditioned to go into a sombre, soul searching mode around the end of the year? Between the haze of xmas jungles in stores, pre-arranged gift giving and mad-dog rushes of shopping centre sales? Thinking about it, I find that quite peculiar, since time doesn’t really exist. And besides, why the end of the year, and not the end of the tax year, for instance? Why not all the time, for that matter…
I guess my point is I've been a bit lost lately, wasting a lot of time of electronic tom-foolery and new-fangled widgets, spending hardly any time just "thinking" and "talking". Gasp, shock, horror! It wasn’t like this at all during our journey on the old continent. I knew instinctively that a part of me would have to be “silent” here in the big city. I’d have to go into
more more more. But man…. so fucking empty.
So I’m going on a digital diet. It’s not my own idea, just one I, ironically, picked up during my sweep of the intertoobs for interesting stuff. The idea is simple enough: slow down. Stop with the status updates, the squatting on Facebook, the insistent and constant flow of “stuff” into your consciousness. Just… slow down. Take your time, breath things in, experience stuff.
I will confess, I have been listening to lank S.A music (on www.last.fm, nogal!!) and missing my peoples something stoopid. That made me question the quality of my relationships and how little time I actually spend maintaining them. I take them for granted, in fact.
Another salient point: I’m turning 30 in a little over a month. Yeaaaah…introspection much.
But fear not! I have drawn up a battle plan (organic, work in progress, to be sure) of what I want to achieve for the next 5 and 10 years. Everything from finance to love, I’m ready for the next coupla rounds.

we are satellites
